This prestigious scholarship program, established to honor the legacy of labor pioneer Mike Quevedo Sr., provides significant financial assistance to qualifying dependents of Southern California Laborers’ Union members pursuing higher education. Following a successful 2024 program that awarded $710,500 to 138 deserving students, the SCDCL remains committed to fostering academic excellence and educational opportunities within our union community.

- Application Period: January 1, 2025 – April 30, 2025
- Eligible Applicants: Legal dependents/children of Laborers in good standing with local unions affiliated with the Southern California District Council of Laborers
- Award Usage: Can be used at any accredited U.S. College, University, certified vocational trade school, or certified Institution

- Completed online application
- Official transcripts with seal/stamp
- 1-3 letters of recommendation
- Recent color headshot photograph
- Letter from local union verifying parent’s membership status
- Brief essay on how family member’s involvement in the Laborers Union affected your life

- Students must be high school graduates planning to attend a qualified institution
- Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit and other qualifications
- Recipients can accept other grants or awards
